430 Sep 4, 2017 #1 I'm trying to figure out the best way to attach a wrought iron buttcap to a hidden tang knife with a bog oak handle. I've come across a few ideas but I'm looking for a little advice on what might work best. I can't tap holes and I'm probably not going to be soldering anything, so what are my options? *****UPDATE*****

Many times a solid brass butt cap makes the knife too "handle-heavy". I have ordered 4 Randalls for the Blade show in stainless with nickel silver double hilt and duralumin butt caps. 2 ea. Model #1's (a 6" & 7") and 2 ea. Model #2's (same: 6" & 7"). If it was strictly a "revenue issue" I would have ordered solid nickel silver butt caps @ $70.

I often just drill and tap a hole in the end of the tang and tread a piece of all-thread rod into it. With thinner steel, I sometimes just cut the blank with an extension that I will thread later.
